Well we have made it past Halloween and are almost to Thanksgiving. And since 2020 has no rules are you jumping straight to Christmas or waiting a few days until after Thanksgiving? I usually and a very strict- “No Christmas until after Thanksgiving” person, but this year all bets may be off because I love the twinkle of a Christmas light and, lets be honest, we could all use a little more joy in 2020! TBH I started watching Lifetime holiday movies before Halloween and I loved every second of it. I did get one tree up, undecorated, but most of my decor will be put up after Thanksgiving as always. It would have been up sooner, except life happened this year and I have been busy with work and personal things so no Christmas goodness sprawled all over my house….yet.
I am flashing back to my last years Christmas decor and dreaming my house was looking this cozy right now on a dreary day. My house generally has a more farmhouse feel and this is exactly the look I go for in my living room for the Christmas Decor. This view here has me wanting to curl up on the couch and watch Christmas movies all night long.

In my more “formal” living room we have our larger 9 foot tree up. I knew as soon as we bought this house I would have a large tree there. I absolutely love to come home from work each night during the season and see it in the front window. I keep this tree a little more traditional with golds, silvers, and reds. I thought about changing it up a bit this year, but it likely will remain the same. Maybe I will add a little ribbon for some extra flare. I always struggle with the tree topper on this one. The first year we had some of the picks sticking out from the top, but last year we went with this Santa. I think the larger the tree, the harder it is to find something that looks appropriate at the top.

I also sprinkle some holiday decor around the rest of my house. Last year I added a tree in the Master Bedroom because I love to lay there with the glow of the lights. It was my first flocked tree and although it is a bit messy, I really love the difference the flocking made. I also decorated it a bit of a different color scheme with pinks/golds.

I set up a cute little holiday village in my living room last year and it will be a staple in the years to come!

I am sure this year, things will look a little different, but I haven’t bought too many new items, because I know I have more than enough to fill out my house already. I can’t wait to have that magical feeling back again this coming weekend despite the fact that the holidays will look very different for me this year, than last. We hosted all sides of my family last year between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This year, it may just be me here alone as I want to make sure I am keeping others safe! And if that is the case I will be here alone- cozy on the couch watching my favorite Christmas movies in my pjs, being thankful for all that I have been blessed with!
